Tax Law is a specialized study in the legal field. Completing tax law school will usually require at least 30 credit hours of required courses and an additional 60 elective course credit hours of education to become a certified tax law specialist. There are several job opportunities available for tax law specialists. They can work in legal system for the IRS handling court cases. They are able to make case by case decisions about whether or not an individual tax return has been filed properly. For this reason, they are also able to find employment in the public sector for things such as helping the public and business filers with counsel about their taxes.
